Tony Cochran Guitars Custom # 60
Nice backstory on this crazy Bass guitar. I go to a lot of auctions . . . everywhere. I was rolling through Yerington, Nevada one day hunting an elusive 60's Airline guitar when, low and behold, I spotted an auction in the backyard of some cinder block house on East Bridge Street. There were some ragged metal lockers, rusty, crusty, and reputed to be ripped off from the railroad station in Rhyolite, Nevada before it became a ghost town. I bought them all. They were cheap. After I got home and beat them open with crowbars and vigilance. I found 6 things in all. Two pewter pepper shakers, that looked like ugly birds, three dried up cartridge pens, and this Bass wrapped in oilcloth with this cryptic note: "Whoever finds this, don't play the B Major scale. Please. But if you do, this will make it go away." I wondered what would happen and why would I want it to go away, but that part of the note was torn off. It was signed D.C. You've been warned.
