Tony Cochran Guitars Custom #57
I received this electric guitar in a settlement of a court case way too tawdry to discuss here. Jeepers C. Williams was named after his young G.I. Father. His Mom, Thua Tran, was a working girl on Tudo Street in Saigon back in 1966. She found his name on a Zippo lighter in her dingy room #5 at the only Rock 'N Roll bar on the block. She brought Jeepers up to steal, lie, and cheat his way to fun and profit. As the house musicians would collapse in drunken or drugged stupors, Jeepers would pirate pieces of their musical equipment and constructed his own guitar. This thing is a real mixed bag of WTF, let me tell you. It's not optioned out much, but the old 60s Japanese neck plays out well, the pick up is clear and bright, even if it is not very loud, and, oh yeah, there's only one knob ... volume. When I took the guitar apart it had the biggest potentiometer I had ever seen. Weird, funky, and packed with the ghosts of old Saigon, this, my Friend, is art.
