Tony Cochran Guitars Custom #61

Jonesy “Sawblade” Marvell stole this guitar from the trunk of a ’56 Cadillac parked on a back street in Philadelphia. Gold in color, he quickly sprayed it  a dirty sky blue to disguise it from the cops. Jonesy had been instrumental in introducing the Hammer version of the Blues to the South side of Chicago. His guitar was shattered by an angry husband wielding a ballbat. Jonesy had a gig at a bar on the lower Northeast side of Philly at a place called Bergoo’s. His signature sound “Hammer Blues” was aided by the “Perfect 13”, a sound orsitatir invented by Baldy Philbin. BTW, it was the last one he ever assembled. It took a lot cobbling, screwing, and mayhem wiring, but he made the gig on time. Named “Old Blue”, Jonesy hammered out the Blues on it until his death in ’62. It resurfaced at an auction in Mansfield, Ohio in 1995.
