Tony Cochran Guitars Custom #72

In 1946 Master Electronics Lab technician and Indianapolis resident, Ryan Doepker, was one angry dude. Sick of tinkering with the "Squawk Box" his boss had saddled him with, he wanted more time to pursue his dream of "electric enhanced Jazz." He had seen an amplified guitar during his Gibson factory Kalamazoo tour and felt he could do better. His mule for this experiment was misplaced after his untimely death from aluminum poisoning in 1947. The guitar did not surface again until it was pulled, miraculously unscathed, from the wreckage of a downed Convair CV-240 in Gillsburg, Mississippi in 1977. The aircraft rated case had even kept the Master Utiliphone Sonic-Domed bridge chamber intact. I traded an old Harley servicar frame for it in 1992. I think I made out like a bandit.
